Camp July 07 Week Two (July 9-13)

Update and Testimonies

This week of camp has been another amazing experience!  God is truly at work here at Camp Brittney.  It is so humbling to see the teenagers on the Camp Staff continue to wash dishes, clean bathrooms, etc. without complaining!  They are such an example to our lives, and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to serve alongside them these past two weeks!

This week was a good bit different from last week.  We had about 50 campers as the youth group from the church in Los Guido and the youth group from a church in Atenas (the town where the camp is located) came together for a week of learning and fellowship.  It was similar to a youth retreat in the States.  Each day, they spent time in Bible studies learning about various topics including: Service to God, God’s Purpose for Our Lives, and Being an Example to Others.  The youth really enjoyed these studies and learned SO much!  They also enjoyed free time in the river, pool, and playing games.  They also enjoyed the crafts we made, especially the journals they decorated!  They used these to write notes to each other (similar to a yearbook) as well as take notes about the sessions.  Due to the rain, we were unable to have a bonfire on the last night.  We still had an intense night of decisions and dedication to the Lord.  Every single camper came forward to pray and make decisions they needed to make for God.  About six campers shared the next day that they felt called to be a missionary either in Atenas, at Camp Brittney, in Los Guido, and other areas.  Of these six, most of them mentioned that they wanted to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina to receive training.  Please pray that God will provide the necessary means for this to become a reality!  God is bringing up these youth to bring his Word to others who so desperately need it!  Sharing with them this past week was certainly a blessing and an example for our lives!

We are so thankful God has allowed us to be here these last two weeks!  We have seen how beautifully this ministry team works together and the amazing ability God has given them to facilitate these camps!  We give thanks to God for those that came to know him as their Savior and for the many important decisions that were made.  Please pray for all the campers that they will remain dedicated to God as they return home!  Keep the ministry team in your prayers as they continue to work with these precious people every day!  They are already looking forward to the next camps in January!  We hope you all realize how amazing our God is and how much he has done in only two weeks here at Camp Brittney!  We can only imagine what he will do with many more weeks of camp in the future!

Testimonies

To me, the camp seemed very special because I have learned to share.  Also I learned to share hours with God and to follow along, if God permits it, to be able to share all the hours with God and with my friends.

Camp was very beautiful.  I enjoyed it a lot.  The food was very tasty.  The people were very fun.  The hidden camera was very fun.  But what I liked the most was the games and also Salvador and Koki’s songs. Some of us are sad because we have to leave.  I love all of you!

For me, it has been a very fun and interesting camp.  Already I have learned many things from the Word of God.  The Bible studies were the best part of camp.  Obviously the free times and the food have also been super good.

For me, camp was very beautiful because I learned more from the Word of God and aside from that because we played.  For me it seemed fabulous because I could share with others and form new friendships.

The camp was very fun for me and of much blessing for my spiritual life.  The Bible studies were a big blessing.  I liked them a lot.  The study that I liked the most was about being an example with the verse 1 Timothy 4:12: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.  I also liked the study about service to God and serving him with joy and with spirit.  Everything was very fun!

Camp was very important for my life because I made many decisions that are going to change my life.  It was a great blessing to share with brothers in Christ, and I give thanks to God for giving me this opportunity.  The studies were very good.  Thanks to each one of the people who helped to give us this.

Froylan made the decision to serve God as a missionary after graduating from high school this school year.  He wants to serve at Camp Brittney, but he is trusting God to lead him where he should go.

For me the camp has been an experience so beautiful where I have enjoyed playing soccer with my friends and swinging from a vine into the river.  But not only have I enjoyed playing, I have also enjoyed learning many things.  For example, I learned about the other campers and their personalities.  But the most important thing that I have learned is of the marvelous things that God has for my life if I obey him because I know he only wishes the best for everyone and that he has great things for everyone.

I learned a lot about the Word of God in this camp.  I liked it because I learned a lot about our Lord and Savior.  I like the pastors because they are very firm in order to teach the Word of God.

First of all, all of the camp has been marvelous because they have treated us so well.  They have treated us with love and patience.  We have learned that God has a great purpose for us and that we should trust and have faith in him.  Thanks to Paulina (Pastor Gabriel’s wife).  Thanks to everyone who worked in the kitchen.  We are thankful for everything you all have done.  Thanks to Sarah and Stephanie for their support.  God bless you all and thanks very much!
